Common Questions
Everything visitors ask first — what Beauville is, who governs it, and what you can actually do here.
01
Is Beauville a real place?
No. Beauville SEZ is a fictional special economic zone — a speculative novel and world-building project. It's written with the rigor of a real institutional proposal, but the island, the charter, and the events in it are invented.
02
Who governs Beauville?
Beauville operates under a Managed Autonomy Model. The host nation retains sovereignty and final veto, while sponsor nations — each holding a defined mandate such as security, education, public health, or capital — share responsibility for the SEZ's daily governance.
03
Do residents have a say in the rules?
Not in the charter itself — that's written by sponsor nations and the host government, not by residents. What residents (and readers) can shape is the story around it: community proposals, design competitions, and public discussion all feed into how Beauville is imagined going forward.
04
What is Beau Dollar?
Beau Dollar (฿ BD) is Beauville's official currency, established to anchor its internal economy. There's no physical cash — it exists entirely as a digital bank balance, aside from a small number of commemorative coins.
05
What is the flag design competition?
Beauville doesn't have a flag yet. Starting July 31, 2026, we're inviting submissions for its first official design. The winner's name will be recorded in Beauville's official documents, along with a Beau $100 reward. Results are determined through a mix of community voting and expert review.
06
Can I share my own story here?
Yes. If you have a story — yours, or someone you know's — you're welcome to contribute it. Fiction is allowed. So is the truth.
